Another reason to love FaceBook: I received tons of happy birthday notes from friends and acquaintances earlier this week. Thanks everyone!
Yesterday someone at my office sent out the following email to everyone in the entire company: “So it’s official - every Tuesday for the remainder of 2008 is HAT DAY!!!!!! I’ve checked this years schedule, and there doesn’t seem to be any conflicts.” I have absolutely no idea why they sent it or what they were referring to, but I found it rather funny anyway.
During Sundance I received 3234 work emails and 561 personal emails. Ugh! How long do you think it will take me to clear my inbox?

Saw “Mysteries of Pittsburgh” at Sundance. Okay direction, writing and acting. Nothing overwhelmingly special.
Just saw “The Wackness” at Sundance. Really enjoyable coming of age movie. Ben Kingsley was fantastic. Screening received huge applause.
The premiere of “The Visitor” at Sundance just got a 5 minute standing ovation. The film is fantastic; great acting, writing and direction.
So far “Sugar”, movie about a Dominican baseball player, is the best film I’ve seen at this year’s Sundance. Solid writing and directing.
Many at Sundance were negative about “Be Kind Rewind”. I thought it was fun, whimsical and a true reflection of Michel Gondry’s creativity.

“Choke” was funny, strange, inconsistent but overall fairly decent. Nothing great though. $5 mil may have been a little much to pay for it.

Heard there was a heated bidding war for “Hamlet 2” at the CAA dinner last night. Now it is confirmed. Film sold for $10 million to Focus.

“Choke” seems to be getting rave reviews at Sundance. Just sold to Fox Searchlight for $5 million. Look forward to seeing the film tonight.

People fled from the Sundance press screening of “Downloading Nancy” and by the end of the film half the audience had left. Need I say more?

In between press screenings of “Be Kind Rewind” and “Downloading Nancy” at Sundance. The theater isn’t filling up which may be a bad sign.
